Life became difficult when I found out I couldn’t have gluten. It changed my routine; recipes I used, stores I shopped, restaurants I frequented. I had to make some changes. Luckily for me, I found a few substitutes for gluten-containing foods, three particularly that have made my gluten-free lifestyle a breeze:

  1. Glutino English Muffins – It was hard for me to find a gluten free bread option that I enjoyed the taste and texture of until I found my secret weapon, the Glutino English Muffin. I enjoy them toasted and spread with power protein mix and as a critical component of my favorite lunch sandwich which involves chicken breast and avocado.
  2. Tostitos Blue Corn Chips – These gluten free chips are organic and serve as a handy grain option.
  3. Starchy vegetables – Starchy veggies like sweet potatoes and legume-type beans provide carbs for your meal and nutrition like vitamin A, fiber and iron for your health. I often switch out a starchy veggie for the grain during a meal.
